The Advantages Of Buying A Home Over Building One

People Question #53

Way back in time if a couple or family wanted to have their own home, they tended to build it, and of course, it requires a lot of effort, time and money.

This was when the average cost of building a home was manageable even with someone who was starting a family. We also cannot ignore the fact that there were only a few houses built and it was cheaper than it is today.

Another point to consider is the time you need to find the architect or builder who will match or understand what your house will look like after construction. On the contrary, this may increase your budget because some builders tend to overprice materials that will be used in building your home.

Yes it is an advantage to have your own home built the way you want it to be. For instance a 3 bedroom and 2bath is what you desire and you want a specific area where you can customize or design it. Furthermore, if you are the one who designs your home you can make sure that all the materials used are brand new and approved materials.

Nowadays, if you want to have your own home, it will cost you a lot. Depending on the design you like and the materials you want to use, it is typically much higher to build than to buy.

There are key factors to consider when building a home. First is that you need to find a lot where your house will be built. At the same time if you have a family you should consider the location, where is it located and what establishments are near it.

The main establishments are: school for your children or future children, church for your spiritual needs, police station for your security and malls for your easy access in buying your basic needs. Wanting to have this near your home now is a little bit difficult because all lots that are near to these establishments will be a bit pricey and also there may be no lot available.

On the other hand, the trend nowadays is to buy an existing home.

There are 2 main advantages in buying a home: Convenience and cost. Specially, if you are someone who is new to the area and may be moving because of job relocation or should be near schools because your kids will start their education. Buying a home will be an advantage, because you will not wait for several months to construct a new home before moving in. There are a lot of ways to look for a specific home and it will not cost you a lot of time.

Another reason an existing home may be a better option is if you would like to be in a particular established neighborhood — near work, school, friends, and/or family. Odds are, too, that the home will have mature landscaping, so you won’t have to worry about starting a lawn, planting shrubs, and waiting for trees to grow. And if you want to live close to town, your best bet will be an existing home since most, if not all, of the land will have already been built upon.
